Obituary

On November 26, 1951, a baby girl was born to Almaree & Grover Drew Sr. in Vian, Oklahoma. She was given the name of Virgial Jean Drew.

Along with her family they attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Virgial was baptized under the Pastor of Mt. Olive at the age of 12 years old. She attended school at Douglas School until her family moved away. Virgial finished early schooling at Dunbar and Emerson elementary. She also went to Roosevelt Jr. High and Central High School in Downtown Tulsa, Graduated Class of 1970. After graduation Virgial went to Tulsa Jr. College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Science as a Medical secretary in 1973.

The family joined the New Jerusalem Baptist Church under Rev. Potter. They later joined the North Cincinnati Baptist Church under Rev. Davis. This Church merged with Shiloh Baptist, and she was there until her death. Virgial worked and served at Shiloh in many positions. She was a member of many different choirs until her health no longer allowed her to sing. She was also a member of the Rebecca circle in the Missionary Department.

In 1974 Virgial married her high school sweetheart, Samuel Lane by Rev. H.D. Morris. The Pastor of Shiloh at that time. To this union no children were born. Later in life Virgial met Eulysee Dan Anderson and this relationship one child was born, Jason Lee Anderson.

Virgial worked several jobs starting with Romney Grocery Store, Tulsa Linen, Tulsa Public Schools, and her last Employment was with Hillcrest Medical Center until 1992. Her hobbies were collecting things like stamps, old money, coloring, singing, baking, and many other things.

Virgial is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers: George & Tony Drew, 2 sisters Rose Mass & Helen Schumpert, Ex-husband, and Father of her son. She leaves to cherish her memories: Son Jason Lee Anderson, grandchildren: Treveon Cato, Jason Lee Jr., DaMonte', Jaylen, Brayden,, Xavier, Annika Jean, Ashrah , 1 sister Neomi Palmer, Jacksonville, FL, 1 brother Grover Drew Jr., 1 Aunt Irene Drew, Ohio, 2 Sister-n-laws Willa Drew-Hunt, Duncan, OK; Janet Marie Drew Crawley, Altus, OK; 1 Brother-n-law Leroy Schumpert, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her adopted grandchild Anthony Rasado; her adopted sisters, Sheila Thomas MS and Gladys Norwood, TX, Best friend Laura Bloomfield Tulsa, God-Daughters, Ledelia Mack and Anesha Cherry.

Memorial Service will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Shiloh Baptist Church. 1124 N. Martin Luther King Blvd., Tulsa, OK 74106
