Virginia (Ginny) Lee (Short) Baldridge of Collinsville was born September 24, 1945 to Gordon Burnell and Mary Virginia (Maxwell) Short in Fort Knox, Kentucky. She passed from this life into the arms of her Savior unexpectedly on September 2, 2020 at the age of 74.
Ginny began her adult career as a waitress at Kress' Department Store at the Luncheon Counter. It was here that she met her "Big Tipper" who became the love of her life, Airman Robert Lee Roy Baldridge. Their romance lasted 40 years, but for her it was 15 years longer. During her lifetime she went to beauty school and worked as a beautician in the early years of her marriage. As she became a mother of 3 little boys she decided she needed a new career, so she enrolled in Northeastern Oklahoma University in Miami, OK and received her Bachelors in Nursing. She continued the rest of her professional life doing what she loved, caring for others as a Registered Nurse.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents Gordon & Mary Short; her husband Lee Roy Baldridge; her brother Gordon Short; grandson Matthew John Jay Baldridge; great-grandsons Matthew Christian Alexander Baldridge & Leighton Charles Baldridge; a special aunt Dorris Maxwell; and one of "her other boys" Steven VanMeter.
