Virginia Lee Diven of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was born April 2, 1928 in St. Joseph, Missouri the daughter of James Arthur and Willie Ruth Edwards. She passed away Sunday, July 11, 2019. She was 91 years old and had resided in Tulsa over 60 years.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Diven; half-brother, Bill Edwards and half-sister, Frances Walton.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19, at 10:30 at the Moore Eastlawn Chapel under their direction.
Virginia was married to Charles over 58 years. Virginia loved traveling with Charles. During one of their trips in the 1980s, they served at Haus Edelweiss, a retreat for ministers-in-training from Eastern European countries.
In addition to her four children, Virginia is survived by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and their families.
Daughter Nancy Cooper lives in Tulsa with her husband, Ron. Grandson Scott, wife Misty and two great-granddaughters, Emma & Maddy, live in Broken Arrow.
Son David Diven lives in Tulsa with his wife, Colleen. Granddaughter Sara Fourre, husband Duncan and two great-grandsons, Rowan and Patrick, also live in Tulsa. Grandson Jeffrey lives in Tulsa, as well.
Son Les Diven lives in Ramona. Grandson Brian and wife Tammie reside in Denver, CO. Granddaughter Kristen Wilson, husband Travis, great-grandson Mason and great-granddaughter Addie, live in Owasso.
Daughter Cathy Owens lives in Sand Springs with her husband, Mike. Granddaughter Angela Modlin, husband Keith, great-granddaughter Chloe and great-grandson Connor live in Jenks. Granddaughter Katy Moreno, great-granddaughters Hannah and Evie, all live in Sand Springs.
The family suggests donations be made to the John 3:16 Mission, 575 North 39th West Ave., Tulsa, OK 74127 in lieu of flowers.
