Virginia J. Murray, 100, life long resident of Tulsa, died Monday, May 17, 2021 in Tulsa. She was born June 5, 1920 to Floyd L. and Gertrude Baker Smith. She married Jack Murray and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Murray was a long-time member of Victory Christian Center where she was very active as long as she was able. She sung with the Tri-Tones and was a graduate of TU. She worked as a secretary for McMann Oil Company prior to having children.
She is survived by a son, John K. (Janet L.) Murray of Bixby; a daughter, Marsha J. Murray of Tulsa; a granddaughter, Leslie Jean Gentry; a grandson, Travis Murray; and a great-grandson, Cameron Swanson Bougher. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Smith and a sister, Rada Turner.
Viewing will be on Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51 St., Tulsa where a funeral will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM.
