Virginia was born in Patterson, New Jersey on October 7, 1935. She graduated from Middlebury College and began a career in the oil industry. She put her career on hold to raise her 2 children and was an amazing mom. Moved to Tulsa in 1980 and began work at Petroleum Abstracts on the Tulsa University Campus, a job she enjoyed very much for 22 years. She married James Wood in 1985 and they enjoyed traveling and playing golf at Cedar Ridge. In retirement she kept very busy volunteering. She loved books and reading, and was involved in many activities that promoted literacy. She also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital. She was an active member of Asbury Church. Dinny was a good friend and a giving soul.
She is survived by her husband Jim Wood, her daughter Karen Timmerman and grandson Karl Timmerman, her son Peter Timmerman and wife Pam. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the chapel at Asbury United Methodist Church on Friday February 15th at 10:00 am. Reception to follow. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
