Mrs. Virginia Lee Zweigle, aged 96 years, passed peacefully on August 19, one week shy of her 97th birthday. Mrs. Zweigle is survived by husband, Allen Zweigle of Tulsa, daughter Linda Jones of El Dorado Arkansas, daughter Holly Coble and husband Darrell of Coweta Oklahoma, son James M Williams, Jr. and wife Tammie of Hardeeville, SC, daughter Sandra Harmon and husband David of Sulfur Rock AR, 4 grandchildren, Addam Coble and wife Arrianne of Broken Arrow, Tyler Coble and wife Valerie of Bixby, Cody Williams of New York NY, and Sam Jones of El Dorado AR. In addition, Mrs. Zweigle has 7 great grandchildren, Dalton Coble, Addison Coble, Reagan Coble, Blakelyn Coble, Molly Coble, Kennedy Coble, and Sawyer Coble all residing in the Tulsa area. She also had many loving nieces and nephews, Kay, Jo Lynn, Bill and Dudley and their families. Mrs. Zweigle was preceded in death by Frank Brown Sr. (father), Virginia Marie Brown (mother), Frank Brown Jr. (brother), Dorothy Kelly (sister), Ida Collins (sister), Edna Galperin (sister) and Darrell Coble Jr. (grandson).
Virginia was born in San Antonio Texas on August 26, 1926. She was raised in Beeville, Texas and worked several jobs from the age of 13 until leaving south Texas for San Francisco, Ca. There she worked for J. C. Penney for 5 years and then for KPIX channel 5 television station. She modeled on KPIX for both J. C. Penney and Miracle Whip. Mrs. Zweigle returned to Beeville Texas for a short period following the death of her mother. She then moved to El Dorado AR, then Jonesboro AR, and finally settle in Tulsa in 1981 where she remained until her passing.
Mrs. Zweigle retired from Autocrane and Ramsey Winch in October 1992, where she managed the payroll for 500 employees. Following her retirement, she took several cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska with her good friend Mary Pittman. She enjoyed fishing while a member of Pine Island RV Resort at Grand Lake. She was a long-time member of the Flyers Club where she and her husband Al enjoyed many nights of dancing and socializing. She was a charter member of the "Sassy Seniors Red Hat Society" for 13 years and served as the "Queen Mother" of the organization for a period. She was also a member of the Saint Anne's Ministry of Compassion Catholic Church, where she volunteered in the kitchen and food pantry. She was known by her friends as Ginny and was so happy to know them all. Per Ginny "I've had an amazing life. " The family wishes to thank Richard and Kristy of Colonial Manor and neighbors Kim and Sean for their help and love during the past months.
A viewing will be held at the Moore Funeral Home, Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24th. Funeral services will be held at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel on Friday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. A potluck lunch will be held on the funeral home premises immediately following the service.
The family requests donations be made to Saint Anne's Catholic Church of Broken Arrow in lieu of flowers.
