Vondah Claudine Cosby was born on March 24, 1940, around Magazine, Arkansas to Clarence Claude and Arlie Mae Cosby (nee Wilson). The family moved to Tulsa, and she graduated from Central High School in 1958. In 1960, Vondah married Estle Hunsucker and they would go on to have two sons, Rafe and Ragen.
Vondah had a successful career as an executive assistant for law firms and oil & gas companies. She was a diligent, hard-working, and valued employee until her retirement.
Vondah was extremely passionate about her family and her faith. The family was an integral part of Evangelistic Temple for many decades, constantly involved with services and other church activities. She could also be found cheering on the boys during their many soccer, sports, and school events.
Years after the death of her husband Estle, Vondah reconnected with Don Hale. They would marry in 2011 and spend the next few years traveling on grand adventures, just enjoying each other's company.
Together they found a new church home with First Baptist in Broken Arrow, where they were active with their Sunday School group.
Vondah died on February 3, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her devoted husband Don Hale; son Rafe Hunsucker; son and daughter in law, Ragen and Rachael Hunsucker; and sister-in-law Brenda Cosby. She was preceded in death by her husband Estle Hunsucker and brother Bill Cosby.
Interment will be at Square Rock Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas by prearrangement.
