Obituary

Wallace Lee (Wally) Roush, Our Valentine, was born on February 14, 1943 in Abilene, TX, and passed into eternal life on July 3, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father Waldo Roush and his mother Annabel Roush Kelly. Wally was raised by his mom along with several aunts and uncles on a farm outside of Vinita, OK. He and his mom later moved to Tulsa, where he attended school. In 1955 in Junior High he met Dorris at the young age of 12. Their friendship grew over the years and on March 30, 1962, they eloped and recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. They were blessed with a baby girl, Kim Roush (Boggs), their one and only, on September 29th, 1963.

Wally made a career in sales of trucking parts. He loved sales and the interaction with the customers. He worked in the trucking industry for 53 years until his retirement in 2015. He really enjoyed his retirement.

Wally and Dorris raised their daughter Kim in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They moved to Broken Arrow In 1995 to be near their grandchildren, Ryan and Sean. Wally and Dorris enjoyed being involved in all their activities, whether it was t-ball, baseball, basketball, wrestling or football.

Wally was raised to a 32nd degree Mason in 1983. That same year he joined the Scottish Rite and is currently a 33rd degree. He then joined AKDAR Shrine and became active in the Bowlers unit, the Mini-Kars and the Kar-Buffs. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with several other Shriners. In 1990, he was asked to be Outer Guard and continued serving on the line to become Potentate in 1998.

Wally and Dorris recently joined Evergreen Baptist Church in Bixby, and highly recommend. Throughout his life, Wally was a loving husband, dedicated father and devoted friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Dorris, their daughter and son-in-law Kim and Gary Boggs; grandchildren-Ryan Boggs and his wife Andrea and Sean Boggs; great grandchildren-Kaden Fisher, Avery and Atticus Boggs; three sisters-in-law and their husbands and families: Betty & Monty Stricker, Suzanne & Dub O'Steen and Jamey & John Treat, as well as many cousins.

Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akdar Shrine General Fund or Akdar Shrine Transportation Fund.

Visitation will be at Moore's Southlawn Friday, July 7th from 6pm-8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Evergreen Baptist Church, 10301 East 111th St S, Bixby, OK 74008, Monday July 10th at 10 am. Please share your memories with the family at www.moorefuneral.com .
