God sent his angels to deliver a precious bundle of joy to Clarence B and Edna E Stevens, on April 15th, 1935. They named their bundle of joy, Walter R. Stevens. He joined 4 sisters, Frances, Lou Ellen, Dorthey, and Louise; all preceded him in death. Art, George, Albert, Pertisa and baby Calvin completed the family circle. Son, Raymond, now deceased; daughters Betty, Vicki and Tabatha Jo completed two previous marriages. The 42 year union with Saundra K Marrs, added two more children, Bryan Keith and Stephanie Ann, raised and loved as his own children were. When God said, "go forth and multiply" the Stevens took Him at his word. Walter left this world with fourteen grandchildren, seventeen plus one on the way great grandchildren and newest addition, one great, great grandchild. To round out his family, he had 31 nieces and nephews that heard the same message: family still growing. All who loved and admired Walt will miss him. Walt returned to God's arms of love and grace, Thursday, July 28, 2016.
Walter, or Walt as most knew him, was a laid back, easy going, never in a hurry, kind of guy that set people at ease from the beginning and most of all, my Rock of Gibraltar and love of my life. I give all my love for eternity as I promised in 1975. Until we meet again, I love you, baby.
