Wanda Lee Carner (Hathcoat) was born April 10, 1931 in Harrison, AR to Birdie Lee Hathcoat(Roberts) and Martin Leslie Hathcoat. She and her 4 siblings ( Leslie, James and Shirley Hathcoat; Mary Ann Stephens) grew up playing on the family farm. She loved to play basketball and was very smart at a very young age! She skipped several grades in school and graduated, the Valedictorian, at age 16. She attended business school in Springfield, MO and later moved to Tulsa and went to work for Standard Oil in the law office.

It was in Tulsa that she met and married the love of her life, Oba Marion Carner (Obie). Through this union she became a mother to Sheri Lee Sexton and James Marion Carner, and then a Nanny to Jayme MacDonald, Kayte Fry, Tyler Carner, Chelsea Benoit, Cory Sexton and MacKensy Tate. She was most proud of her family, especially her 9 great grandchildren (whom she loved to play with and could keep up with, even at 91!) Henry and Harrison Fry; Jaxson Ide; Isabella, Hadley Jo and Everly MacDonald; Oliver and Jack Benoit; and Arlo Carner. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, January 19th, in Tulsa.

She was an excellent cook. A patient teacher. She was fiercely devoted to the Lord. She loved to laugh and could put a smile on anybody's face! She was the heart of her large family, always nurturing, always forgiving and always taking time to make everyone feel special and loved. A devoted mother, loving nanny and great-grandmother who is loved and will be greatly missed.
