Obituary

Wanda Gertrude Fields passed peacefully on October 12th at the age of 93 and went on to be with her Lord. Wanda was born to Charlie and Evaline (Young) Fields on October 26th, 1929 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Wanda was a member of the Cherokee Nation and a devoted Christian.

Wanda was raised by her grandmother, Annie Young, as her mother passed away before she was a year old. She graduated high school in Muskogee in 1948 and worked for a local photographer until moving to Tulsa in 1985. Wanda loved flowers and plants and enjoyed working outside in the yard. She was still picking up pecans from her pecan tree utilizing a walker at the age of 90! She also enjoyed reading, working puzzles, crocheting and making items with plastic canvas. She loved her pets and had many dogs that were rescue animals over the years. She enjoyed cooking and always shared with neighbors and friends. She was a wonderful caretaker to both her grandmother (Mom) and her Aunt in their later years. Wanda always had something kind or complimentary to say to everyone she met whether stranger or friend.

Wanda is survived by cousin, Debbie Harper; her dear friend (sister), Joyce Arnold; her Joy Class sisters and Church family at Lynn Lane Baptist Church; along with other friends and neighbors.
