Wanda Ruth Kennon, nee McLaughlin (August 3, 1929 -- May 2, 2021)

Wanda Ruth (McLaughlin) Kennon entered the Kingdom of Heaven peacefully on May 2, 2021 at the age of 91.

Wanda was born on August 3, 1929 to Jesse James "Jess" and Ruby D (Low) McLaughlin. On May 25, 1946 she wed James Woodrow "Woody" Kennon and they raised a loving family of four children together. Wanda experienced success at Midwestern Instruments, School Distributor Supply, and McDonnell Douglas. She was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she fellowshipped over long lunches and outings with her church friends. Throughout her life, Wanda's favorite pastime was spending time fishing and boating with her family on Fort Gibson Lake and Grand Lake O' the Cherokees.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James Woodrow Kennon; son, Steven Lee Kennon; granddaughter, Stephanie Nyree Kennon; brother James Joseph "Jimmy Joe"; sister, Alice (McLaughlin) Boudreaux; parents Jesse and Ruby McLaughlin. She is survived by son, Kyle and Nancy Kennon of Wyandotte, OK; son, James Michael Kennon of Springdale, MO; daughter Dyanna (Kennon) and Terry Walling of Tulsa, OK. Grandchildren: Kimberly (Kennon) Saddoris of Broken Arrow, OK; Jesse Dean "Jay" and Cheri Kennon of Wagoner, OK; Mikelynn (Kennon) and TJ Leverte of Tiburon, CA; Wayne and Tena Kennon of Afton, OK; Ernest Walling and Mark Dalpe of San Antonio, TX; Rachel (Walling) and John Behles of Tulsa, OK; Jason and Alana Kennon of Tulsa, OK; Kevin and Leigh Kennon of Plano, TX; James Corley, Sr. of Tulsa, OK; and Jeremiah Kennon of Springdale, MO; Nathan Kennon of Locust Grove, OK, and Shane Atchley-Kennon of Claremore, OK. Wanda loved all her 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren immensely. She leaves behind many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly and who will miss her greatly.

The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Good Shepherd Hospice Of Grove, OK. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1:30 P.M., Moore-Southlawn Chapel with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
