Wanda Fern Walker Mundy
October 21, 1931 - March 2, 2021
Fern peacefully joined her Lord after a brief illness. Fern was born in Chouteau, Oklahoma and raised in Sand Springs. A 1949 graduate of Sand Springs High School, she worked many years for CE-NATCO (National Tank). In retirement, she loved her pets, enjoyed gardening, and was a voracious reader -- her favorite being the "A" is for Alibi series by Sue Grafton. Fern was also a regular at Phil's Diner in Tulsa.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents Fredrich Floyd Walker and Bethel Okla Walker (nee Clugston), both of Tulsa as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Shirley Walker of Tulsa.
Fern is survived by 2 nephews, Mitch Walker of Carrollton, Texas; and Keith Walker (Kelly) of Broken Arrow; and 9 great-nieces and nephews: Alexander Walker, Jude Walker, Jackson Walker, Major Walker, Kathryn Walker, Mallory Walker, Hudson Walker, Elizabeth Walker, and Lorena Walker; and lifelong best friend Kay Twist of Tulsa.
The family encourages the support of local florists or, in lieu of flowers, a donation to any woman who is currently fighting breast cancer. Fern was a 30 year breast cancer survivor and would be thrilled to know that in her name, a current warrior was offered support in her memory.
