Wanda Faye Skelton, age 93 of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born to Jesse H. Skelton and Naomi Raines Skelton on March 28, 1933 in Russellville, Arkansas. Wanda was a woman of devout faith and was a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church for several decades before becoming a member of Sheridan United Methodist Church. She never married and instead devoted her life to caring for her parents. She took on the role of matriarch and provided guidance, support, and assistance to not only her younger siblings but their children as well.
In 2017 she moved into Cedarcrest Care Center in Broken Arrow. She quickly became a favorite of many of the staff members for her sweet demeanor. During her time there she enjoyed reliving her past with her niece, Janet, and going through the many photographs helping to label those from a time long past. In her lifetime she gave 100%, she was a true matriarch and will be dearly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse H. Skelton (D 1973) and Naomi Raines Skelton (D 1998). Her Brother, James Henry Skelton Sr (D 2013) her sisters: Shirley Nell Dale (D 2017), Sue Elizabeth McGuire (D 2020) and Martha Jeantte Miller (D 2024). Her nephews: William Jesse Skelton (D 2010), Thomas Jeffrey Skelton (D 2012), Rodney Alan Skelton (D 2023), James (Jim) T. Sherrill, Jr (D 2022), and Terry Wayne Smith (D 2019).
She is survived by her nieces: Janet Smith, Jacqueline Davis, and Tamara Brewer. Nephews: Joesph Sherrill, James Harvey Skelton, Donald Skelton and James Henry Skelton. And many great-nieces and nephews.
