Warren L. Baber, 87, husband of Frances Baber, of Tulsa, passed away Sunday morning, September 22, 2013. He was born in 1925 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Ernest and Sudie Baber. A graduate of Arkansas City High School, he served briefly in the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII and then moved to Tulsa in 1946. On November 11, 1950, he married Frances Stanley of Chelsea, OK. He worked as a self-employed Certified Public Accountant and independent oil producer. He attended Immanuel Baptist Church for over 63 years, where he was a greeter. He was a member of the Tulsa Delta Lodge and became a 33rd Degree Mason as a member of the Tulsa Scottish Rite, a member of the Akdar Shrine (Greeters Unit) and the Royal Order of the Jesters. He belonged to Oaks Country Club and was a devoted University of Tulsa supporter.
Warren is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters, Brenda (Roger) Laubhan of Edmond, Susan (Mike) Newberry of Seminole and Beverly (Kelly) Friedl and son, Chuck (Cheryl) Baber of Tulsa; grandchildren, Josh Laubhan of Edmond, Megan (Kyle) Hubbard of Bartlesville, Kelsey (Evan) Chambers of Oklahoma City and Grant and Luke Baber of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Kate Hubbard and Whit and Kai Chambers. He is also survived by his sister, Burchie (Warren) Smith of Edmond, sister-in-law, Dorothy Baber of El Cajon, CA and brother-in-law, Coy {Dorothy) Stanley of Vinita and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert Baber and Charles Baber and his sister, Eunice Kanelakos.
Visitation will be at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, Tuesday, September 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1915 E. 3rd Street, Tulsa at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25.
