Obituary

Lyndel Wayne "Windy" DeLozier, 87, born to Jewett Edward and Etta (Mizell) DeLozier on February 2, 1938, in Lamesa, Texas, passed away December 9, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was raised and loved by his mama, Irene (Mizell) DeLozier.
Wayne served our country in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, DeLois, on January 27, 1959. He accepted Jesus in his early 20's and served in many churches as a deacon, Sunday school leader and music leader. Wayne loved playing the guitar, fishing and taking vacations (especially to the mountains). His family enjoyed his tall tales of tiny people camping beside them, giant mosquitos lifting cars and finding his missing toe in the pork and beans can. Such "windy" stories were the inspiration for his nickname that most of his friends and family knew him by.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, J.E. DeLozier, Jr. and Dallas DeLozier; and sister, Sue VonHolten.
Lyndel is survived by his wife DeLois May, daughters, LeeAnn Bergstrom and husband Bill of Ardmore, OK and Melissa Ward of Tulsa, OK, grandchildren, C'Ann Walton and husband Matt, Abbi Slagel and husband Bill and Callie Ward, seven great grandchildren, and sister, Barbara Lehr of Edmond, OK, and many nieces and nephews.
