Charles Wesley "Wes" Clevenger passed from this life Monday, April 18th at the age of 56. He was born November 7th, 1959 in Tahlequah, OK. He was the first child to Charles Homer Clevenger and Charlotte Ann Clevenger. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bud and Cleo Hall and Dewey and Mary Clevenger. He is survived by his parents Charles and Charlotte Clevenger, three brothers Michael "Mike" Craig Clevenger, Jay Barry Clevenger, Steven David Clevenger and one sister Nell Ann Dawson. The two greatest loves of his life were his two children Rachel Francis Clevenger and Charles Wesley Clevenger Jr. He was a doting uncle to seven nieces and three nephews.
Wes graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1978 where he was an all-state wrestler. He afterwards attended Claremore Junior College on a wrestling scholarship and later attended the University of Oklahoma. He remained active in the wrestling community through coaching at Jenks and Tulsa Rangers elementary programs. In addition, he was a long time high school wrestling official and respected by all members in the wrestling family.
Wes also enjoyed going on vacations with all his family, especially on ski trips. But he was happiest when he got to pick out the hotel that he wanted. He was an avid golfer and spent most of his free time out on the golf course whenever he could. Wes also enjoyed going to the lake in the summers, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors.
Wes was always the one that the younger siblings could turn to. He was the most serious of the five and kept the others in line but he would always be there for them to lend a hand or to keep a secret that Mom or Dad didn't need to know about. Funny thing is they would hear all about those stories 20 years later.
