Wesley Burtran Sparks, 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away
on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Baptist Village in Owasso,
Oklahoma. He was born in Cushing, OK, on the 26th of
September 1920, to George and Zelpha Sparks. Wesley flew 57
missions on a B-25 in the South Pacific during World War II
with the Army Air Corps. He married Dorothy Abbott on the
25th day of September, 1942. They made their home in Whittier
California for many years and upon retirement from the
teamsters moved to Tulsa in May of 1977. He worked for
Autopilots Central, Inc. from 1977 to 2006. Wesley was
preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Connie
Jean Sparks, grandson, Frank McCalister, 4 brothers and 2
sisters. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home, 1
brother, Bert Sparks of Santa Rosa, California, 5 children, Ron
Sparks, Janet Roy, Danny Sparks, Jerry Sparks and Cindy
Tomachoff, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several
nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
The family will hold a visitation on Wednesday October 9th at
Moore's Southlawn from 6 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will
be Thursday October 10th at 2:00 pm at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the services. Moore?s Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at
