Wilfred "Winn" Lauderdale, 96, of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully at his residence, with his family by his side, on Thursday, December 23, 2021. He was born on Wednesday, February 4, 1925, in Mexia, TX, to James Moore Lauderdale and Helen Cecilia (Ehly) Lauderdale. Winn was proud to have served as an Aviation Navigator in the United States Navy from 1943-1946, and served in the Naval Reserve from 1946-1966. He was an Oil Movement Coordinator for Explorer Pipeline, and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Tulsa, OK.
Winn met the love of his life, Elena Louise (Ricardi) Lauderdale in Texas, and they married on June 30, 1951, in Ft. Worth, TX. During their 65 years of marriage, they raised five children, until her passing on July 27, 2016.
Winn was benevolent, kind and compassionate, and loved helping people with whatever they needed, including, taking care of his neighbors' needs, and his neighborhood pool. He was also a talented jack-of-all-trades, and enjoyed doing yard work.
Winn is survived by his daughter, Dena Lauderdale of Tulsa, OK; 4 sons, David Lauderdale of Siloam Springs, AR, Donald Lauderdale and wife, Lynn, of Enid, OK, Dennis Lauderdale and wife, Mary, of Enid, OK, Danny Lauderdale and wife, Jeanette, of Tulsa, OK; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren, and more on the way; sister, Mary Jo Gross of Saginaw, TX; and a lifetime of friends.
Winn was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elena Lauderdale; and sister, Colleen Hendrix.
The family asks that memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
