Obituary

William W. Castles, also known as Bill, Dad, Papa, Doc or Cass, crossed over to the realm of Heaven October 26, 2021. He was born to Aubrey and Hazel (Ryan) Castles on February 7, 1933 in Chelsea, OK, later moving to Broken Arrow, Sapulpa and in 1946 to Tulsa.
He attended Cleveland Junior High and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1951, served as Senior Class President, quarterbacked the football team, and was a representative to Boys State.
Bill graduated from the University of Oklahoma, a member of Delta Tau Delta, and became an avid Sooner fan for life. He completed his education in 1958 at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry. He returned to Tulsa and practiced 40 years. He loved his profession and his patients. Additionally in 1958, he met and married Diane Nordskog, a Minnesota girl, with whom he enjoyed life for 63+ years.
Bill had enormous zest for life! Curious and interested in so many things from involvement with his four son's activities to embracing football, flying, and food (cooking). His love for fishing led he and Diane to retire at Grand Lake, an enticement to friend and family gatherings. They took time to travel - the US and beyond - and to enjoy art, music, and reading. Bill's enthusiasm for the natural world led him to grasp the supernatural love and joy of the Lord, largely inspired by the nurture and fellowship of First United Methodist Church.
