William Keith
Crenshaw
Aug 24, 1947 — Oct 12, 2026
William Keith Crenshaw passed away peacefully Monday, October 12, 2026 in Tulsa following a recent illness.
Keith was born August 24, 1947 in Tyler, Texas, to William Finch and Doris Bernice (Cummings) Crenshaw.
He married Sandra Mae (Sandy) Simmons on October 23rd, 1976 at The McBirney Chapel at First Methodist Church in Tulsa. They were just days from celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary. In 1982, they welcomed their only child, beloved daughter, Susan.
Keith graduated from Midwest City High School in 1965. A proud lifelong Sooner fan, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1969 and was a Certified Public Accountant. He relished the Sooner victory over Texas in the last football game he watched.
He moved to Tulsa in 1969 to begin his career at Warren Petroleum Company where he met his future wife. After a period in public accounting, he started his own tax practice. Keith retired in 2017.
He was a lifelong Methodist, longtime member of Tulsa First Methodist Church and recently transferred membership to Asbury Church. He was stalwart OU and ORU athletics supporter and an active member of the ORU Golden Eagle Club where he made many friendships through the years. He served as treasurer for several Boards and served on his neighborhood Homeowner's Board for over twenty years.
Keith embodied professionalism, integrity, kindness and patience. Faith and family were everything to him. He enjoyed maintaining a perfectly manicured yard and home, entertaining family and friends together with Sandy, supporting Susan in all her athletic and academic endeavors, attending athletic and arts events, reading, history and genealogy, and traveling with Sandy and Susan.
He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife and the love of his life, Sandy of the home; daughter, Susan Crenshaw; sister, Karen Caldwell; nephew, Jim (Danielle) Caldwell and great nephews, Anthony and Charlie; sister-in-law, Karen Daniels, nephew Bob (Pam) Daniels and family, and brother-in-law, Steve (Daylene) Simmons and family, as well as a number of cousins and great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
