WILLIAM ?BILL? MAKINSTER 71, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Bill was born to William Makinster and Gaye (Coles) Makinster on August 22, 1941 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cheryl R. (Roberts) Makinster; family friend, JoAnn Teague and many fellow police officers and friends.

Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He served with the Tulsa Police Department from 1975 to 2008 and he retired from the Detective Division.

Funeral Service: 10:00 A. M., Monday, January 28, 2013 at South Tulsa Baptist Church, Tulsa, OK with Dr. Ted Kersh officiating. Then Graveside Service 2:00 P. M., at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. with the Tulsa Police Honor Guard conducting the honors.
