Obituary

William Benson Fader, 92, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Tulsa, OK. He was born October 15, 1931, in Philadelphia, PA to Sophie and Arthur Fader. They moved to Miami, Florida in 1945 where he graduated from Ponce de Leon High School. He left home at the end of his senior year of high school to enlist in the U.S. Army Air Corps Reserves and was subsequently called to active duty in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He attended and graduated from Illinois Wesleyan where he studied and earned degrees in business, economics, and philosophy. His degrees and dedication towards his education helped him to pursue and earn his CPA certificate.

Bill married the love of his life, Jacquelin Rudat, on September 6, 1952, in Bloomington, Illinois. They moved back to Florida in 1957 after graduation where they raised their family, and he began his career in finance and banking. In 1982 they moved to Tulsa to conquer the "wild plains" of Oklahoma. Bill left his mark in banking at both Sun Trust in Orlando and Bank of Oklahoma in Tulsa. He was always involved with his church, whether it be overseeing a building project or in fellowship with their church family. He enjoyed hunting, sending emails, baking Easter egg cakes, napping by the fire, and spending time with friends and family. Being a loving husband, father, and grandfather were his proudest accomplishments. His ability to tell a great story, his devoutness to Christianity, and his devotion to Jacque was evident through his actions and added a bright spot to everybody's day.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Jacque; his parents, Sophie and Arthur Fader; and son-in-law, Pat Burton. He is survived by: his two sons, William and wife Carmen of Corpus Christi, TX; Philip and wife Undine of Willis, TX; and daughter, Leisa Burton of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Ericca, Melissa, Jackie, Will, Hannah, and Ellen; and great grandchildren, Ella, Liam, Daniel, and Georgia.

The family wishes to give special thanks for the tender loving care and incredible nursing provided to him through InCare Services at Covenant Living at Inverness, as well as members of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church for their steadfast friendship and love of Bill. In addition, a special thanks goes to Persis, a four-legged friend, who visited Bill and provided him with comfort and brightened his day.
