William "Bill" Allen Gordon, 88, passed on to Heaven on June 24, 2022 in St Charles, Missouri. He was born January 20, 1934 in Rogers Arkansas to Carl and Ima Gordon. Bill was married to Becky Gordon for 59 years until she passed away in November, 2019.
Bill finished College and received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Right after college he entered the Army and was deployed to Panama in the Unit 7461 signal 6 to set up a radio station for the Army for a 4 year assignment. After the Army, Bill came home to Tulsa where Carl and Ima currently lived and met and married Becky Barhydt in 1961. Once married a job took Bill to California to work on some missile projects. While in California. Stephen was born in Palo Alto, California. Another job took Bill and family to Houston, TX where he helped assemble and program the NASA Houston Control Center. Michael was born in Houston in 1964. After Houston, Bill and family went to Minnesota to work for Sperry Univac and was on the design team for the first Mainframe computer. Paul was born in Minnesota in 1968. Bill designed several computers for Sperry Univac before moving to Blackwell, Oklahoma where he and his Dad, Carl, went into business together and purchased a Coast to Coast hardware store. John Mark was still-born in Blackwell and buried there. After several years in Blackwell, Bill and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Bill was a Real Estate Broker, Computer Salesman, and a Data Center Manager for American Airlines. He semi-retired and ran some gas wells and a Natural Gas Dehydration Unit reclamation service for a couple years and then fully retired.
Bill had a special passion for Church and the mission work. He went to Central America several times to support the local missionaries. He would always smile when he remembered those trips and enjoyed telling us about them often. Bill was always active in the church, prayed and read the bible daily until the day he died. What a great example to us boys on how to become a God Fearing Christian Man.
Bill developed a knack for collecting things like 6 cars, 2 tractors, 2 brush hogs, 2 boats, 1 camping trailer, hundreds of flashlights from Harbor Freight. So now I know how many times he purchased something there as evidenced by the large quantity of those little black flashlights.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ima, his wife, Becky, and his son John Mark. Bill is survived by Stephen Troy, Michael Todd and Paul Christopher; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren and one precious great-great granddaughter.
