Harjo, William J., 80 of Tulsa passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014. He was born May 11, 1933 in Wewoka, OK to Bennie and Keota Harjo. He was a graduate of Haskell Institute and Kansas University. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. He worked in the US and abroad in the electronics field. He obtained a Medallion Yellow Cab franchise in San Francisco, CA. He continued his cab ownership for many years and truly "Left His Heart In San Francisco". He moved to Tulsa to be near his family. His interest and hobbies were cats, photography, trains, and traveling. Survived by children Bill Meader, Geselle McKnight, two grandchildren, sisters Kay Taylor and Barbara Ryan, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. William developed many treasured friendships living at Inverness Village the past several years, where his memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014.
