Obituary
William (Bill) Paul Shunkey, Jr. age 83, of Conway, Arkansas, formally of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away, Saturday, April 23, 2016. He was born April 12, 1933 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to William Paul Shunkey and Elsie Leenore (Quisenberry) Shunkey.
Mr. Shunkey attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU) in Stillwater, OK. Graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK and was commissioned in 1955 into the United States Marine Corp., where he retired on July 31, 1978 with rank of Lt. Colonel. After retiring he worked for Mercury Inboard Outboard Engines in Fond du Lac, WI, then for Zebco in Tulsa, OK. He married Barbara Charvat January 22, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, son, John Shunkey and grandson, Chris Shunkey.
Mr. Shunkey will be remembered by his son Kurt Shunkey and wife Beth Ann of Conway, Arkansas; a son Craig Shunkey of Tulsa, OK; 4 grandchildren: Kyle Shunkey of Fayetteville, AR; K.C. Shunkey of Conway, AR; Jackie Lofton and husband Marvin of Tulsa, OK and Kristin Wendels of Fond du Lac, WI.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Marine Corp. Toys For Tots, or charity of choice.
