Bill was preceded in death by his best friend and companion, Donna Wright, whom he loved dearly. Bill cherished Donna's family and was happy to be considered a bonus dad to her daughters.
Bill was born in Muskegon, Michigan on August 6th, 1943, to August and Evelyn Simonton. At the age of 16, Bill worked for the F.W. After the company closed its doors in 1982, Bill and his then wife, Jeannine, opened The Printshop Business Center, where they provided printing and, eventually, shipping services from their 81st and Yale location in Tulsa. The Printshop Business Center expanded its services in 1986 to Broken Arrow with the opening of Print, Copy, Mail IT. The Printshop Business Center eventually moved to one location at 46th and Memorial, where he worked until he sold the company in 2008 and retired after 26 years of business.
Bill and Jeannine Simonton were married for 35 years and had one son, Doug. Over the course of their marriage, they would relocate several times where they would enjoy the many different attractions offered in those cities and made many lifelong friends.
Bill's passions included his love of dogs, sports, and travel. As a sports enthusiast, Bill could be found supporting his favorite teams: the New Orleans Saints, White Sox, and was a season ticket holder of the University of Tulsa's Golden Hurricanes. Bill had many beloved dogs over the course of the years and was part of the Tulsa Dog Training Club where he was a trainer and was President of the club for a period. Bill enjoyed traveling with Donna and seeing different parts of the world on their many trips and cruises with their family and friends.
He is survived by: his granddaughter, Shannon Simonton; bonus grandchildren, Brooke Casteel and Jonathan Rector; former daughter-in-law, Sandy Thompson and her husband Rodney; and bonus daughters, Lisa Rector and Tricia Casteel.
The family will celebrate Bill's memory in a private celebration of life.
