Obituary

William "Bill" Brooks Weaver passed away Tuesday August 5, 2024 at the age of 94. He was born in El Reno, OK to John Walter and Alma Brooks Weaver. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jane (Weaver) Stout.

Bill met his beloved wife Julia Ann (Isley) Weaver at Oklahoma State University (OSU), Stillwater, OK. They were married on March 15,1953. They were blessed with four sons: Stephen Mark Weaver (Margie) of Tulsa, OK; William Mitchell Weaver (Kimberly) of Sand Springs, OK; Michael Thomas Weaver (Dawn) of Baton Rouge, LA and John Richard Weaver of New Orleans, LA. He has 5 beautiful grandchildren: Stephen Weaver, Katherine (Weaver) Daniels (Carson), Benjamin Weaver, Annie Weaver, and Julia (Weaver) Cole (Beau). He also has 5 precious great grandchildren: Maxwell, Audrey, Wyatt, Finn and Lily.

Bill moved from El Reno, OK to Stillwater OK in 1936 and attended Stillwater High School. He attended OSU and graduated in 1952 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He was the President of his fraternity, Beta Theta Phi and President of Blue Key (an upperclassman honor society) and Commander of the ROTC. Bill was also a proud military man serving in the United States Air Force.

Bill was employed with Humble Oil (Exxon) for many years in New Orleans, LA and Houston, TX. He then moved on to work at Murphy Oil (ODECO) in New Orleans, LA and spent about two and half years living in Scotland with his wife Julia. When Bill retired they moved to Colorado Springs, CO for many years before moving back to New Orleans, LA. After Hurricane Katrina Bill and Julia moved to Tulsa, OK.

As part of his great faith in God, Bill joined the congregation at Woodlawn Acres Baptist Church where Julia is still a member.

A small Chapel service will be held at Moore's Southlawn, 5111 S Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK on Friday August 16, at 10 a.m. Sharing memories is invited at www.moorefuneral.com . In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org in honor of William Brooks Weaver.
