William Wells (Bill) was born on Valentine's Day 1942 and passed away March 19, 2014. An engineer and entrepreneur, Bill started his first business in Tulsa at age 27 and retired from his most recent venture in 2002, the highlight of which was obtaining a U.S. Patent on a filtration system he designed for the auto manufacturing industry. Bill tirelessly and lovingly served as an elder and teacher in the Christian Church for over 30 years. He was a graduate of Tulsa Central High and The University of Tulsa, with a degree in Engineering Physics.
Although a man of great physical stature, Mr. Bill was a real "Gentle Giant," not unlike his beloved Great Danes. He was a Christ-Follower, an encourager, a sweet and generous man who was fun to be around.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, R.O. and Amy Wells and sister, Irene Frankenburger. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Durkee Wells; daughters, Kelley Wells and Kippy Jones; son-in-law Bradford Jones; twin sister Betty Potts; brother-in-law Sam Potts and sister-in-law Donna Daugherty, as well as beloved nephews David Daugherty, Rich Daugherty, Christian Potts and Jonathan Potts. Memorial service will be Monday, 03/24/14 at 2:00 pm
at Osage Hills Christian Church.
