Arnold, Wilma J., 93, died peacefully surrounded by her family and by the love of her life, her labradoodle Mr. Ed, on Thursday, October 23, 2014. Wilma was born October 1, 1921, Bell, Mo to Edward Albert "E.A." & Gertrude (Sherman) Smith.
Wilma moved to Bristow in 1926 and lived there until moving to Tulsa in 1954. Wilma is a graduate of Bristow High School and attended Oklahoma A&M where she was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
She met and married Will B. Arnold, July 31, 1969. They were married at John Knox Presbyterian Church. They were a dynamic couple enjoying traveling the world, spending time with their friends, and being involved with their church.
While in Tulsa, Wilma enjoyed being an active member with many organizations including Southern Hills Country Club, The Summit Club, The Petroleum Club and was a deacon with John Knox Presbyterian Church.
At 93, Wilma was the matriarch of the family, and added a sparkle to a room just by being in it. She was the life of every party; young or old, everyone was drawn to her. She loved being Gigi to all the family's babies and children, and couldn't wait for their visits. She was a paragon of style, always dressed impeccably, with her hair and nails freshly done. She loved a stiff cocktail and stories that occasionally had some spice. Wilma J. was truly one of a kind.
She is survived by her grandson: Doug Orr, wife Hayley & Great grandchildren: Olivia, Chase, Pepper & Beckham, Grandson, Derek Orr, wife Elora and great grandchildren, Hayden & Abigail. Nephew, Will Smith & Niece Suzie Torches and her husband, Rich; Step-Daughter, Barbara Gammon, her husband, Pug; Step-daughter, Jerri Osgood, husband, Birdie. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Harold, Second husband, Jimmy, third husband, Will, her brother, Sherman, and her son, Jim Ed.
Wilma will lie in state for friends to call 10 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2014. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, OK. Memorial Service 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014, John Knox Presbyterian Church.
