Obituary
Wilma "Gwen" Smith of Tulsa went to be with the Lord April 13, 2017, at the age of 68 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born October 6, 1948 in Clarksville, AR to Harlis Edward and Wilma Newel (Sparks) Martin.
Gwen had a 32 year career as an educator. She taught 3rd grade in the Liberty Mounds School system for 30 years and in Tulsa Public Schools for 2 years. She had one biological son, Michael and many "adopted" kiddos from her classroom. She loved them all dearly.
Preceded in death by her parents, Harlis Edward Martin and Wilma Martin, her brother and his wife H. Wayne Martin and Susan (Smyth) Martin.
Survived by her sister Linda (Martin) Gaither and husband Greg Gaither, brother Phillip and wife Becky Martin, son Dan Michael Smith III, 4 grandchildren, Matthew, McKinley, Mary Katherine Smith and Hunter Shoaf and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK.
Funeral Service will be 2:00pm, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Christian Chapel, 7807 E. 76th St., Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
