Zelphua Marie (Jones) Chapman, 92, entered into eternal life Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Richardson, Texas.
Marie was born September 30, 1927 in (old) Prue, Oklahoma to Samuel and Elizabeth (Crider) Jones. She married William "Bill" H. Chapman on August 1, 1941 in Sedan, Kansas and they were married for 64 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Chapman and her eldest son, Chec Chapman.
She is survived by her children: daughter, DeAnna Wright (Burl), daughter, LaQuita Lane (Tom), son, Lamont Chapman (Donna), daughter Marcella Stamper, son, Steve Chapman (Melissa) and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was a devout Christian, having been saved on May 17, 1937. Bill was an ordained minister and together they pastored churches across Oklahoma. She led women's groups, prayer groups and Vacation Bible Schools. She was a lifelong prayer warrior and many depended on her as an intercessor and someone they could come to in their time of need.
Having been saved at the age of 9, Marie quickly memorized two scriptures which she held dear throughout her life. They were Proverbs 3:5-6 and Isaiah 51:10. She also loved Psalms and in particular Psalm 34.
Her quick smile and warm spirit were always inviting and she always seemed to be humming or singing Christian songs or a passage of scripture to be shared. The first time she would meet anyone she would always give you a warm smile and big hug; this was a statement to who she was.
Her light will continue to shine on those who remain.

Visitation will be 4-7pm, Friday, July 10, 2020 at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel, 1908 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service, 10am, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Moore's Eastlawn Chapel.
